Tough medicine

This video of the Italian minister for Welfare gave me hope. Hope that in this day and age we can still have politicians who are capable of exercising tough choices for their country whilst also caring about their citizens. The measures taken by Italy are measures which are very harsh but unfortunately necessary. And such situation was created because of a political class whose sole interest was that of enriching itself instead of helping out its constituents. Now the new Italian cabinet is like a doctor telling his dying patient that things don't look good and a very drastic and painful cure has to be administered. For the sake of Italy and of us all, let's hope that such tough medicine will work.
