Lest we forget

Last weekend marked the 50th anniversary of the 1962 elections which were marred by the notorious interdett imposed by the Catholic Church on the Malta Labour Party.  Whilst we are almost constantly reminded by the PN about the shortcomings of the 80´s Labour administration, almost nothing is said of the treatment afforded to the Labour Party and its supporters in the 50´s and 60´s by the Catholic Church and the Nationalist Party. 

If we are really honest about wanting our country to move forward it is the time to look at both events in the same light and discuss them without letting our political passions escalate.
