Where did the policies go?

The gloves are off. The electoral madness has started to affect most of us despite our best efforts to keep sane and objective. Social media makes it much more difficult to keep level headed. We share articles the minute they are posted online and comment about them throughout the day on each others timeline.
This makes it difficult for us to be able to digest effectively the meaning of what is being actually said. It would be of great benefit to us if we actually looked at the arguments being put forward rather than at the petty issues surrounding our political landscape I am bored stiff of reading articles about vanishing colours, pronunciation, sexual orientation, mental sanity and stuff like that.
What we should be looking at are rather more important things that affect our everyday lives like policies. So i find it more more important for us to ask ourselves questions such as:
How did we end up at risk of excessive deficit procedure when by the end of this legislature we supposed to have a budget surplus?
How do explain the fact that we still have the highest rate of school leavers?
How do we rationalise the fact the we have the highest utility bills in Europe despite having the lowest tax rate on energy?
How come we still have to spend most of the structural funds allocated to us in the EU budget?
So please dear politicians, do us all a favour and start asking serious questions.
